I, Caliban: Activities

Caliban's Chant

This is Caliban’s chant from The Tempest. It’s a great piece to get a class working on rhythm.

Divide the group into two. One half can provide a repeating rhythm with “Ban, Ban, CaCaliban.” The other half can work on putting the other lines over the rhythm.

Work on pace, on volume, on bringing in a percussive element. Have fun with it. Caliban would approve!
